When should equipment be calibrated and tested?

• You acquire a pre-owned instrument from a non-specializ
• sed calibration and service company. 
• When a specific level of usage or hours of operation has been reached. 
• If the instrument experiences a shock, drop, or vibration that may have affected its calibration, particularly relevant in the case of portable devices. 

Additionally, calibration is necessary whenever observations raise doubts whether the instrument appears damaged or exhibits unexpected readings indicating a potential inaccuracy that warrants recalibration.
